Shaboozey at Moody Amphitheater | September 11, 2026

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” ran 19 weeks at number one on the Hot 100 — tied for the longest run in the chart’s history. That fact says something about reach. The new record says something about ambition. The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales is a 20-track Western concept album about a woman who watches her father die and decides the Bootcut Boys are going to pay for it. Shaboozey brings the Outlaws Never Die Tour to Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park in Austin on Friday, September 11.

About Shaboozey

Collins Obinna Chibueze grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia, raised by Nigerian-Igbo parents on a mix that doesn’t map neatly: cowboy movies, country radio, and BET’s 106 & Park. He spent a decade working that blend into a catalog before the mainstream caught up. When it did, it did so all at once. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” landed in 2024 and didn’t let go. “Good News” followed to the top of Country Airplay. In February 2026, he and Jelly Roll won Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 68th Grammy Awards for “Amen.”

The new album, out July 31, is a different kind of project. The lead single is called “Born to Die.” The narrative arc — Cherie Lee witnesses murder, pursues revenge, falls for an outlaw, and has to choose between blood and love — doesn’t read like it was written to move streaming numbers. Whether it delivers on the concept is the question the tour is going to answer.

The Venue

Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park opened in August 2021 as the centerpiece of the revitalized Waterloo Park, on the eastern edge of downtown Austin. It holds around 5,000 — a covered stage with an open lawn — and sits between the Red River clubs and the suburban amphitheater circuit in both geography and scale. For an artist who just tied the all-time Hot 100 record, a 5,000-cap outdoor room downtown is not a ceiling. It’s a deliberate choice.

Brittney Spencer opens. She’s handling both Texas dates on the Outlaws Never Die Tour — Austin on the 11th, Dallas the night after — and her vocals earn the slot.
