Three Canadian bands that spent most of the 2000s reshaping indie rock — and who have spent most of their lives making music together — are turning 2026 into their formal reunion summer. Metric, Broken Social Scene, and Stars open the All the Feelings Tour at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park on Monday, June 8, with doors at 5:30 PM and the show kicking off at 6:30.
About Metric, Broken Social Scene & Stars
This is not a loosely assembled package tour. Emily Haines and James Shaw, the core of Metric, have been members of Broken Social Scene since the collective’s early years — they played on You Forgot It in People, the 2002 record that remains one of the most important Canadian albums of its era. Haines grew up in Toronto with Amy Millan of Stars and Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene. The depth of these relationships is unusual even by indie-rock standards, and the All the Feelings Tour seems designed to foreground that — 41 dates across North America and Europe, with Austin holding opening night.
All three acts arrive with new material. Metric’s Romanticize the Dive, out April 24 via Thirty Tigers, is led by the single “Victim of Luck.” Broken Social Scene’s Remember The Humans (Arts & Crafts, May 8) opens with “Not Around Anymore,” featuring Kevin Drew. Stars are releasing The Set Yourself On Fire (Live), a vinyl document marking the 20th anniversary of their beloved record. Three bands, three new albums, one stage — Austin gets to be the first city that hears what it sounds like when they do it together.
Metric formed in Toronto in 1998, led by Haines on vocals and keys alongside guitarist James Shaw, bassist Josh Winstead, and drummer Joules Scott-Key. Their nine studio albums span rock, new wave, and electronica — a range that makes them a natural anchor for a bill this eclectic. Multiple Juno Awards, multiple Polaris Prize nominations.
The Venue
Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park sits at 1401 Trinity St and holds 5,000. For three co-headliners, the outdoor format is the right call — a theater would feel cramped, and the June night air does something for this kind of music that a roof can’t replicate. This is also the tour’s opening date. First-night energy matters, and these three bands have enough shared history to make it count.
