Twenty years ago, Roberto Carlos Oliva Barajas was working small events and local parties in Monterrey under the name Tongorito. The arc from those rooms to headlining major theaters across North America required a distinctive clown persona built from exaggerated makeup and striking costumes, a facility for double entendre and colloquial language, and the kind of TikTok timing that moved clips from regional comedy into millions of feeds. On Friday, October 16, he brings that persona (Brincos Dieras, billed as “the most irreverent clown in Mexico”) to the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio on the El Desmadre Continúa Tour 2026.
About the Show
The El Desmadre Continúa Tour follows a 30th-anniversary run that took Brincos Dieras across Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The current swing covers at least seven North American markets, including Portland, Stockton, San Diego, McAllen, and Phoenix.
This is not conventional stand-up. The act combines stand-up, improvisation, and sustained audience participation with a full visual persona: exaggerated clown makeup, striking costumes, and what press coverage from KPBS characterizes as a “larger-than-life persona” built on “comic characters, interactive improvisation and engaging moments with the audience, making each show a unique experience.” The humor is direct and roast-style, built on irreverent double entendre and colloquial language. Brincos Dieras has said that “entertainment freedom and individual interpretation” are central to his artistic mission; his material has drawn criticism for its explicit nature, and the show carries an 18+ restriction.
Brincos Dieras traces his early inspiration to the Mexican clown Chuponcito. His first national breakthrough came at Monterrey’s 2012 Festival Internacional de la Risa, which carried him from the local circuit to a wider audience in Mexico. By 2018, he was headlining in Houston, Los Angeles, and Chicago. His social media presence has extended that reach considerably: 4 million combined Instagram and Facebook followers, 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, with live clips driving rapid spread on TikTok.
Venue & Logistics
The Majestic Theatre, a National Historic Landmark at 224 E Houston St, holds 2,264 seats and regularly hosts touring comedy alongside Broadway productions and concerts. It is one of the primary live entertainment venues in San Antonio. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; show time is 8:00 p.m. CT.
